Abctexture is a Blender add-on by Mattias Lind that assigns all textures on selected objects to attributes, which an accompanying Maya script can read back to reapply those textures on the objects.

Script-Shelf adds a shelf above the Blender 3D view holding a collection of your Python scripts, organised into categories. A button in the text editor lets you add scripts with one press.
