The 2.0 update centers on a keyframable pseudo effect control that exposes nearly all Typewrite Text Layer properties in the Effect Controls Panel, paired with After Effects compatibility spanning CS6 through 2023.
AM Typewrite Text 2 is an After Effects plugin that produces a typewriter effect with a single button click. Version 2.0 introduces a pseudo effect control added to the Typewrite Text Layer, letting you keyframe nearly all of its properties. The controls live in the Effect Controls Panel.
It supports paragraph text and right-to-left languages, including multi-line right-to-left text layers. For now, the typewrite effect on multi-line right-to-left layers can only be created without a cursor. Multi-line text layers are also supported, along with customizable text and cursor, including their colors. Keyframing text color on a Typewrite Text layer requires After Effects 17.0 or later.
Version 2.0 also resolved an issue where the cursor failed to update correctly and fixed cursor speed updates. AM Typewrite Text 2 runs across a wide range of After Effects releases, from CS6 through 2023. A demo video is available.

AM Typewrite Text 2 is compatible with a broad span of After Effects releases: 2023, 2022, 2021, 2020, CC 2019, CC 2018, CC 2017, CC 2015.3, CC 2015, CC 2014, CC, and CS6. One caveat applies to color work: keyframing text color on a Typewrite Text layer is supported only in After Effects 17.0 and later. Outside that specific feature, the plugin's typewriter functionality reaches all the way back to CS6, so most of its capabilities are available across the full compatibility list.
AM Typewrite Text 2 supports right-to-left languages, along with paragraph text and multi-line text layers. It also handles multi-line right-to-left text layers. There is one limitation to note: as of now, the typewrite effect for multi-line right-to-left text layers can only be created without a cursor. Other layouts work with the customizable cursor, which you can style along with the text, and both text and cursor colors are adjustable.
