Stands out in the toolfarm library for pairing native Blackmagic RAW import across Adobe apps with a stand-alone player, and for keeping grades portable through sidecar files.
Autokroma BRAW Studio is a suite of Adobe plugins, complete with a Premiere Pro panel, that adds a .braw format for import into Premiere Pro, Media Encoder, After Effects and Audition. It also runs as a stand-alone desktop application for playing and color grading Blackmagic RAW files opened straight from Finder or Explorer.
Inside your NLE and the desktop player, you get the same RAW color parameters found in DaVinci Resolve, built on the official BMD Color Science and BMD BRAW. Tools include a White Balance Color Picker, Custom A/B comparison, 20 Global Presets and a Custom LUT option with "Add LUT To Sidecar". Settings saved to a sidecar file are applied automatically across DaVinci Resolve, Premiere Pro, After Effects and Media Encoder, and the Trim Tool removes unused frames while keeping the BRAW codec at the same quality.
Basic features, the importer and Source Settings effect, are listed as free, while a Premium license adds more. BRAW Studio reads metadata from .braw files, runs on macOS Intel and Apple Silicon from 12 Monterey to 15 Sequoia, and does not import .dng files.
Autokroma BRAW Studio is best for editors and colorists working with Blackmagic RAW footage inside Adobe apps who want to grade .braw files and reuse their settings across DaVinci Resolve.
Autokroma BRAW Studio is completely free to download and use.
Autokroma BRAW Studio adds a .braw format that can be imported into Adobe Premiere Pro, Media Encoder, After Effects and Audition through its suite of plugins, which include a dedicated Premiere Pro panel. In Premiere Pro, the Blackmagic RAW parameters are reached through the BRAW Studio Source Settings panel. Alongside the Adobe integration, it runs as a stand-alone desktop application for playing and grading Blackmagic RAW files, exposing the same RAW color parameters found in DaVinci Resolve using the official BMD Color Science and BMD BRAW.
Autokroma BRAW Studio does not import .dng files. It is built specifically for Blackmagic RAW (.braw) footage, adding that format to the supported Adobe applications and to its own desktop player. If your project uses .dng material, you will need a different tool for those clips. For .braw footage, BRAW Studio provides RAW color parameters, presets, Custom LUT support, a Trim Tool and metadata access, all within the same workflow.
Autokroma BRAW Studio runs on macOS for both Intel and Apple Silicon, covering versions 12 Monterey through 15 Sequoia. Support for macOS 15 Sequoia was added in the 3.3.5 update, alongside compatibility with the 2025 (v25) releases of Premiere Pro, Media Encoder, After Effects and Audition. For the current list of supported systems and host versions, check the developer's page.
Autokroma BRAW Studio is listed as free here, with its basic features covering the importer and the Source Settings effect. A Premium license unlocks much more beyond that base set, according to the developer. Because licensing terms can change over time, check the developer's page for the current details on exactly what the free tier includes and what a Premium license adds to your Blackmagic RAW workflow.
