BlenderAe2, developed by Salt Media, transfers 3D data and objects between Blender and After Effects in both directions. It exports objects and data from Blender to After Effects and imports layers and data from After Effects back into Blender, integrating Blender creations into After Effects.
The plugin covers vertices, 3D layer transforms, layer synchronization, vertex normal rotations, and Blender camera shift x,y support. It includes a glb (glTF) quick exporter for After Effects 23.0 and above, an auto-connect option, and vertex support for physics simulations such as Cloth, ocean, soft and rigid bodies. It installs as an extension in Blender 4.2 and above, or as an addon in Blender 3.6 LTS to 4.2 versions.
BlenderAe2 supports Blender 3.6 LTS or later, After Effects 23 or higher, macOS 10.15 to 15, and Windows 10 and 11. Some modifiers can affect exporting of data, and non-planar faces in Edit Mode and non-planar planes in Object Mode are not currently supported.
