Fields & Spaces: Outdoor Impulse Responses - Stereo from BOOM Library is a collection of 123 impulse responses modeling outdoor spaces that are nearly impossible to record naturally. It covers both natural and urban environments, from huge canyons, snow-covered hills, grassy fields, forests, hills and mountains to bridges, squares, streets, alleys, ports, courtyards, dams, castles and underpasses.
The stereo set is a mix-down of the ambisonic version, resulting in rich and dense tails. Most locations include multiple distances chosen to suit each space — a medium-sized canyon spans 0–30–40–70 meters, a long alley 0–70–120 meters, and a tighter forest pit 0–10 meters. Files are delivered as WAV at 24-bit, 48–96kHz for Windows and Mac, totaling 1.2 GB.
The impulse responses are used inside a third-party convolution reverb plugin to add the right reverb and make effects or dialogue sound as if recorded on location. As WAV files, they can be imported into any software that handles this format, including After Effects and Premiere Pro.
