Extrudalizer works inside After Effects to turn any 2D shape layer into an Extrudalized shape in virtual 3D space. You set up appearance, animation, and 3D transformations, and can manipulate the original 2D path so the Extrudalized shape repeats that manipulation. When you press the Extrudalize button, a custom controller is added to the shape layer and a text layer is created for calculating the position of each vertex in 3D space.
The controller exposes parameters for extrusion depth, position, scale of front and back faces, pitch, and orbit control, along with wireframe mode, edge stroke, translucency, and separate color and gradient settings for front, back, and side faces. Artwork can be mapped to any face, converted between Corner Pin and Transform effects, and re-colored individually. Pre-Extrudalize options let you choose appearance parameters and control the number of sections for each curved segment.
Exports are 100% Lottie compatible for web use without baking, or you can bake expressions to keyframes for iOS and Android mobile apps, with export handled through the Bodymovin plugin.
