Hair Net converts proxy mesh and curve objects directly into hair particles in Blender. Blender offers an extensive suite of tools to modify mesh and curves that it doesn't extend to particle hair, and this add-on bridges that gap by turning proxy guides into hair particles, speeding up the workflow.
Developed by Holo_X, Hair Net is a fork of Jandals's HairNet, a project originally created 13 years ago. It follows the same principle as the original but ships with a complete codebase rewrite and expanded functionality. You can add particles to an existing hair system, create a new particle system while linking or copying settings from another, and convert multiple object types at the same time.
Version 1.0.0 runs on Blender 5.0 and newer and is released under the GNU General Public License v3.0 or later. It installs through Blender's standard extension workflow and requires no special permissions.
