Why we like it

iZotope RX Standard earns its place in the toolfarm library as the mid-tier RX edition, packaging repair modules like De-click alongside the rebuilt, machine-learning-based De-bleed and Breath Control. Note that tools such as Ambience Match, Azimuth, and Center Extract belong to the Advanced edition rather than Standard.

What is iZotope RX Standard?

iZotope RX Standard is the mid-tier edition of iZotope's RX audio repair suite, sitting between RX Elements and RX Advanced. It gathers a set of restoration modules you can use on recordings inside Premiere Pro and other hosts, covering clicks, breaths, cross-signal bleed, dialogue, and music.

This release rebuilds two of its core tools with machine learning. De-bleed removes cross-signal leakage such as headphone bleed and separates competing instruments or multi-mic'd drum kits without needing a reference track, and now ships with a real-time plugin. Breath Control detects, reduces, and removes breaths using new neural nets for finer accuracy. De-click automatically identifies and removes clicks, pops, and digital impulse noises with a low-latency algorithm.

The Standard edition also brings improved neural nets for Dialogue Isolate, Music Rebalance, and Repair Assistant, an improved Spectral Editor with ARA, plus new Streaming Preview, Mid/Side mode, and Loudness Optimize. It runs on recent macOS and Windows releases in AU, AAX, VST3, and ARA formats, all 64-bit only.

Who is iZotope RX Standard best for?

Frequently asked questions

Does iZotope RX Standard run on macOS Tahoe and Apple silicon Macs?

iZotope RX Standard runs on macOS Sonoma (14.7.x), macOS Sequoia (15.7.x), and macOS Tahoe (26.4.x). It supports both Intel Macs and Apple silicon M-series Macs, running natively on Apple silicon or through Rosetta. All plugin formats are 64-bit only, so a 64-bit host is required. These are the minimum supported operating systems, so check iZotope's page for the latest details before installing on your Mac.

What plugin formats does iZotope RX Standard support?

iZotope RX Standard is available in AU, AAX, AAX Audiosuite, VST3, AU ARA, and VST3 ARA formats, all of which are 64-bit only. Some modules ship in a narrower set: the Repair Assistant plugin comes as AAX Audiosuite, AU, and VST3 only. Formats can vary by module and edition, so if you rely on a specific host, confirm it accepts one of these formats on iZotope's page before installing.

Does iZotope RX Standard's De-bleed need a reference track?

iZotope RX Standard's rebuilt De-bleed does not require a reference track. It uses machine learning to find the interference on its own and remove it, which lets you clear problems like headphone bleed or isolate competing instruments and multi-mic'd drum kits. De-bleed also includes a new real-time plugin for cleaning up a signal instantly. Both De-bleed and Breath Control were rebuilt with new neural nets in this release for finer accuracy.

Which Windows versions does iZotope RX Standard support?

iZotope RX Standard supports Windows 10 (22H2) and Windows 11 (24H2) as its minimum supported operating systems. All plugin formats are 64-bit only, so you will need a 64-bit host application on Windows. On the Mac side it also covers macOS Sonoma, Sequoia, and Tahoe. If your system runs an older Windows build, review iZotope's requirements to check compatibility before installing.

Is iZotope RX Standard free?

iZotope RX Standard is listed as free in this catalog. Pricing and licensing terms can change, and this is the mid-tier edition sitting between RX Elements and RX Advanced, so the module set differs from the other tiers. Some tools, such as Ambience Match, Azimuth, and Center Extract, belong to RX Advanced rather than Standard. For current licensing and to confirm exactly what the Standard edition includes, check iZotope's own page before downloading.
