Why we like it

Lazy Cracker earns its place in the superhive library by folding crack drawing, procedural fracture, rigid body prep, and debris assets into a single Blender sidebar panel.

What is Lazy Cracker?

Lazy Cracker is a Blender add-on that brings crack drawing, procedural fracture generation, rigid body preparation, and physics cleanup into one streamlined sidebar panel. With Draw Crack Path you paint a crack directly in the viewport and cut the mesh along your drawn path, controlling crack width, cutter depth, path detail, and whether loose islands become separate objects. Auto Crack generates jagged procedural cracks on selected meshes without drawing by hand, with adjustable seed, crack intensity, wiggle, thickness, margin, and pattern detail.

Fracture Surface controls let fresh cut faces use a different material than the outer shell, and fracture faces can be tagged into a vertex group for masking and further lookdev control. Rigid Body Prep converts cracked pieces into active rigid bodies, with mass, friction, collision shape, loose part splitting, auto play, and optional bake set from the panel.

The bundled Lazy Drop Library adds browsable materials and 30+ debris chunk assets you can spawn at the 3D Cursor with snap presets. Built for props, VFX, debris, destruction shots, and quick fracture workflows.

Who is Lazy Cracker best for?

Lazy Cracker is best for props, debris, destruction shots, stylized fracture effects, VFX tests, and quick break variations.

How much does Lazy Cracker cost?

Lazy Cracker is completely free to download and use.

Frequently asked questions

Do Lazy Cracker's glass materials render in EEVEE?

Lazy Cracker's bundled and library glass-style materials are intended for Cycles only. They are not supported in EEVEE and will not behave or render correctly there, so switch to Cycles if you need those glass looks. Separately, the Fracture Surface controls let fresh cut faces carry a different material than the outer shell, so interior break surfaces can look concrete, dusty, or raw while the exterior keeps its original finish, and you can tag fracture faces into a vertex group for masking and further lookdev control.

What debris assets come bundled with Lazy Cracker?

Lazy Cracker includes a Lazy Drop Library with built-in materials you can browse from a thumbnail library, plus 30+ bundled debris chunk assets. One click can populate your scene with chips, rubble, and broken bits without rebuilding geometry by hand. You can spawn assets at the 3D Cursor, use snap presets for cleaner placement, and pair library materials with debris drops for faster, richer destruction shots. The library ships as a bonus alongside the crack, fracture, and physics tools.

Does Lazy Cracker prepare cracked pieces for physics simulation?

Lazy Cracker can prepare cracked pieces as active rigid bodies through one workflow, letting you set mass, friction, collision shape, loose part splitting, auto play, and optional bake directly from the panel, plus a quick passive setup for floors and walls. You can freeze good simulation frames, remove rigid bodies, or clear and rebake physics caches when needed. Note that large numbers of fractured pieces can be demanding, simulation speed depends on your hardware and scene complexity, and complex simulations may still require artistic tweaking.

Is Lazy Cracker free to use?

Lazy Cracker is listed as free in this catalog. For current licensing details and any purchase options, check the developer's page on superhive, since terms can change over time. Feature-wise you get the Draw Crack Path and Auto Crack tools, Fracture Surface controls, rigid body preparation and physics cache management, and the Lazy Drop Library with bundled materials and 30+ debris assets, all accessed from a single Blender sidebar panel.
