Why we like it

Earns its place in the aescripts library by keeping all proximity logic and controls in the Effect Controls panel, with no expression work required.

What is ProximityPro?

ProximityPro handles proximity logic inside After Effects without searching for or writing expressions. Everything is generated automatically and stays controllable from the Effect Controls panel, driven by a single effector null. Influence is distance-based, and the setup works across multiple layers.

From that one null, you can drive scale, position, rotation and opacity, apply color and tint effects, add glow and blur, and use 3D transform options. Forward and reverse time remap and Look At in both 2D and 3D round out the control set, with every setting kept inside Effect Controls.

Version 2.0, released February 1, 2026, fixed bugs, added two more proximity options, and expanded customization for color shift, fade and reveal opacity, alongside a Center Anchor Point control and a Remove Selected Effect button. It supports After Effects 2026, 2025, 2024, 2023 and 2022, and a demo video is available.

Who is ProximityPro best for?

ProximityPro is best for after Effects artists building proximity-based animation across multiple layers.

How much does ProximityPro cost?

ProximityPro is completely free to download and use.

Frequently asked questions

Which After Effects versions does ProximityPro support?

ProximityPro is compatible with After Effects 2026, 2025, 2024, 2023 and 2022, covering several recent release cycles. If you run any of those versions, the plugin fits your setup, and its controls live in the Effect Controls panel. For releases outside that range, check the developer's page before installing, since compatibility beyond the listed versions isn't confirmed. The current release is version 2.0, published February 1, 2026.

Is ProximityPro free to use?

ProximityPro is listed as free in this catalog. We don't publish a price here, so for current licensing terms, any usage conditions, and download details, head to the developer's page on aescripts. Listing status can change over time, and the developer's page is the authoritative source for how the plugin is distributed and what, if anything, is required to use it.

What changed in ProximityPro 2.0?

ProximityPro 2.0, released February 1, 2026, fixed bugs and added two more proximity options. It expanded customization for color shift, fade and reveal opacity, and introduced a Center Anchor Point control along with a Remove Selected Effect button. These changes build on the existing control set, which already covers scale, position, rotation, opacity and more from the Effect Controls panel.

How does ProximityPro handle proximity without expressions?

ProximityPro generates all proximity logic automatically, so you don't need to search for or write expressions. Everything is controlled from the Effect Controls panel using a single effector null, and influence is distance-based. The same setup works across multiple layers, letting you drive scale, position, rotation, opacity and other properties from that one null rather than building the logic by hand.
