Why we like it

RenderSegments earns its place in the aescripts library by handling a specific chore — exporting marker regions as clips — and by offering a Premiere Pro export route for large projects where Media Encoder struggles past 40 queued items.

What is RenderSegments?

RenderSegments turns marker regions into separate rendered clips inside Premiere Pro. The workflow is direct: select clips, adjust markers, pick an encode preset, and start rendering. It creates unlimited batch renders based on your marker in and out points, so several sections can be exported at once.

Beyond rendering, RenderSegments includes marker utilities. You can cut clips using the razor tool, generate markers from a targeted track, apply clip names as marker names during automatic marker creation, and rename markers with ordered numbers. Your own Media Encoder presets can be used for the output.

Renders can run through Media Encoder or through the Premiere Pro exporter. The Premiere Pro exporter works as an alternative for large projects, where Media Encoder can be overwhelmed once more than 40 render items are loaded into the queue. RenderSegments supports Premiere Pro and Media Encoder across the 2020, 2022, 2023, 2024, 2025 and 2026 releases, with version 1.6.2 adding Premiere Pro 2026 support.

Who is RenderSegments best for?

RenderSegments is best for editors who need to export multiple marker-defined sections of a Premiere Pro sequence as separate clips in one batch.

Frequently asked questions

What Premiere Pro versions does RenderSegments support?

RenderSegments supports Premiere Pro releases 2020, 2022, 2023, 2024, 2025 and 2026. The 2021 release is not supported, due to scripting API issues noted by the developer. Support for Premiere Pro 2026 was added in version 1.6.2, while support for the 2025 release arrived in an earlier update. Alongside Premiere Pro, it works with the matching Media Encoder versions across the same 2020 through 2026 range. For confirmation on your exact build, check the developer's page before downloading.

Does RenderSegments work with Adobe Media Encoder?

RenderSegments works with Adobe Media Encoder 2026, 2025, 2024, 2023, 2022 and 2020, and lets you use your own Media Encoder presets for the output. Renders can be sent through Media Encoder or through the Premiere Pro exporter. The Premiere Pro exporter is offered as an alternative for large projects, since Media Encoder can be overwhelmed when more than 40 render items are loaded into the queue. Both routes can be chosen before rendering starts.

Why does RenderSegments offer a Premiere Pro exporter instead of only Media Encoder?

RenderSegments includes a Premiere Pro exporter as an alternative to Media Encoder for large projects. When a project contains many footages, assets or MOGRTs, Media Encoder can sometimes be overwhelmed once more than 40 render items are loaded into the queue. In those cases, the Premiere Pro exporter can be used instead. The option to choose between Media Encoder and the Premiere Pro exporter was introduced in version 1.2.0, and the choice is made before rendering starts.

Does RenderSegments handle the OneDrive .epr issue on Windows?

RenderSegments added a solution for the OneDrive issue on Windows in version 1.1.2, in the form of a "resolve .epr directory" function. That same release also extended support to older Premiere Pro and Media Encoder apps back to 2020. If you store your Media Encoder preset files in a OneDrive-synced location on Windows, this function is intended to address the problem. Full details on that fix live on the developer's page.

Is RenderSegments free?

RenderSegments is listed as free here. Licensing terms can change over time, so for the current details it's best to check the developer's page directly before downloading, where you'll find the authoritative terms of use and any conditions attached to it. That page is also the place to confirm the latest release; the most recent version is 1.6.2, dated February 4, 2026, and it adds Premiere Pro 2026 support. Downloading from the developer keeps you on the current build.
