Shifter earns its place in the Toolfarm library as a focused staircasing tool that spans both After Effects and Premiere Pro, with version 3 adding preset import/export and Spell Book integration.
Shifter, developed by Leyero, is a plugin for After Effects and Premiere Pro built around a single technique: staircasing. In Premiere Pro it staircases clips within the timeline, while in After Effects it staircases layers or keyframes.
Timing is controlled with an intuitive easing graph, and you can set the orientation to ascending, descending or random. In and out points determine the duration or set the interval for each item, and a live preview reflects your adjustments instantly. Items can be moved around for quick organization, and you can save an unlimited number of presets.
Version 3 added the ability to offset in and out points, a more responsive UI, a more visual graph display, Spell Book integration, import and export of presets, and performance and maintenance improvements.
Shifter is best for motion graphics and editing work where clips, layers or keyframes need to be offset in a staircase pattern with custom easing across After Effects and Premiere Pro.
