Slice and Dice earns its place in the scriptspot library for pairing several slicing modes with an undo that restores the original object or slice parts at any point.
Slice and Dice is a 3ds Max tool from JokerMartini built to cut up geometry while keeping the ability to fully restore objects at any point. Slicing operations can cut multiple objects at once and cover several modes: Line Slicing with a simple linear line, Draw Slice for freehand shapes, View Slice based on the current view, and World Slice based on the world coordinate system.
When drawing a spline, if the start and end points fall within 20 pixels the tool automatically forms a closed shape for cutouts. Surface Noise parameters customize the cut surface, from flat to rough like concrete or sharp like splintered wood, and the Thickness parameter enables complex rift cuts. After every slice, Explode Elements separates the remaining elements into individual objects.
Preview Mode lets users adjust the slicing object's transform before baking into the mesh, while Retain Parent and Retain Animation preserve those properties on sliced objects. Undo restores the original object or parts of slices at any point, and a Multi Material can be assigned to a sliced object. It supports 3ds Max 2018 or later.
Slice and Dice is best for 3ds Max artists who need to cut up geometry across multiple objects while keeping the ability to restore originals, parent assignments, and animation.
Slice and Dice is completely free to download and use.
Slice and Dice supports 3ds Max 2018 or later, so it runs on that release and newer versions. All of its slicing operations can cut multiple objects at once, and it offers several modes, including Line Slicing, Draw Slice, View Slice, and World Slice. The version listed here is 1.0. For the latest compatibility details and any newer version support, check the developer's page at jokermartini.com.
Slice and Dice applies every slicing operation to multiple objects at the same time, so a single cut can span more than one object. It covers Line Slicing with a linear line, Draw Slice for freehand shapes, View Slice based on the current view, and World Slice based on the world coordinate system. After each slice, Explode Elements separates the remaining elements into individual objects, and sliced objects can retain their parent assignment and original animation.
Slice and Dice supports closed shape cutouts through its Draw Slice mode. When you draw a spline, if the start and end points land within 20 pixels of each other, the tool automatically forms a closed shape for slicing. Surface Noise parameters let you customize the cut surface, from flat to rough like concrete or sharp like splintered wood, and the Thickness parameter can be adjusted for complex rift cuts.
Slice and Dice includes an Undo that lets users restore the original object or parts of slices at any point in time. Before committing a cut, Preview Mode lets you fine-tune and adjust the slicing object's transform prior to baking the slice into the mesh. Sliced objects also retain their parent assignment and original animation, and a Multi Material can be quickly assigned to a sliced object.
Slice and Dice is listed as free in this catalog. For current licensing terms and any changes, visit the developer's page at jokermartini.com. The tool comes from JokerMartini, is at version 1.0, and supports 3ds Max 2018 or later. It cuts geometry across multiple objects at once and lets you fully restore objects at any point using its undo feature.

by KSTUDIO
Sweep Profile is a 3ds Max tool from KSTUDIO for building architectural profiles with the Sweep modifier. It ships with pre-made profiles and lets you add your own from the scene or a folder.

by ITOOSOFT
SplineOffset is a modifier for Autodesk 3ds Max that clones and offsets splines, creating multiple clones with incremental offset, translation, and rotation. It works fully non-destructively and can heal overlapping splines.

FAST ARCHITECTURE Trial is a procedural mesh object for 3ds Max that generates architectural structures with parameters you can adjust in real time. It creates an FA_Building object usable like any standard 3ds Max object.

by SiNi Software
Scatter by SiNi Software is a free 3ds Max tool for distributing 3D geometry across large surfaces. Add objects, proxies and cache files, then use a distribution map that can place up to one million points.

by Autodesk, Inc.
Explode Geometry is a 3ds Max plug-in that breaks one or more selected scene nodes into individual three- or four-sided faces, with options to add modifiers and refine the resulting geometry.
