textsyncr is an automatic speech-to-markers engine for After Effects. It runs full-featured speech analysis on an imported spoken track — English only — and aligns the resulting transcription to the audio as layer markers.
The workflow is direct: import a spoken track, paste its transcription, and let textsyncr analyze and align the two. From there you can generate and control automatic captions, producing subtitles or lyrics with just a few clicks. The layer markers it creates aren't limited to captions; they can be used for different applications, including driving subtitles and the Monkey tools.
Version 1.8 was updated in July 2026 and lists compatibility across a wide span of After Effects releases, from 2026 back to CS5. A demo video is available on the developer's page.
