A ScriptSpot entry for parameter-driven mesh customization, with a free demo version and downloadable example models to test the workflow.
Universal Customizer is a script for 3ds Max that lets you deform any mesh using parameters, in some way converting your mesh into a primitive object. It does not change the mesh's number of vertices; it only changes the positions of the existing ones. This makes it suited to customizing repeated objects in a scene, with each mesh configured your own way.
The workflow centres on spinner controls, up to 16 of them, which you link to selected groups of vertices and assign to an action type: Move, Scale, or Rotate. One control can manage multiple groups of vertices at the same time, and a single vertex can belong to multiple groups. Once an object type is configured, its data is stored in an external .ucf file that can be edited. An object type is defined by its name, skipping the last copy numbers, and its number of vertices.
The script works with editable_Mesh and editable_Poly objects. Downloadable example models and a PDF guide are provided, and it has been tested with 3ds Max 2016 to 2022. A free demo version is also available.
Universal Customizer is best for 3ds Max artists customizing repeated objects by deforming meshes through parameter controls without changing vertex counts.
Universal Customizer is completely free to download and use.
Universal Customizer has been tested with 3ds Max 2016 through 2022. It works with editable_Mesh and editable_Poly objects, applying its deformations by changing the positions of existing vertices rather than adding or removing any. Downloadable example models are provided as a 3ds Max 2016 file alongside a .ucf configuration file, so you can load them and try the controls. If you are on a version outside this tested range, check the developer's page for current details before relying on it in production.
Universal Customizer offers manual and automatic installation. For manual setup, run the .mse file via Main menu > Scripting > Run Script, or drag the UCinstall .ms file into the viewport (kept in the same folder as the .mse) to add a toolbar button through Customize User Interface. The automatic method uses an .msi installer that adds an 'AppStore' option to the main menu. Upgrading from trial to full is handled by placing the full .mse alongside the trial file so the script updates automatically.
Universal Customizer stores each configured object type's data in an external .ucf file, which can be edited afterward. An object type is defined by its name, skipping the last copy numbers, and by its number of vertices. This lets configurations be reused and shared, and the downloadable example models ship with a .ucf file you load through the Manager window before opening the 3d models. This external-file approach keeps the setup separate from the scene itself.
Universal Customizer is listed as free in this catalog, and a free demo version is available from the developer. The demo carries limits on the object type count, control count, and group count, and restricts action types to Move only, while the full version removes those limits and allows all action types. For current licensing and the most accurate terms, check the developer's page at christopheblattmann.com before purchasing or deploying.

Sweep Profile is a 3ds Max tool from KSTUDIO for building architectural profiles with the Sweep modifier. It ships with pre-made profiles and lets you add your own from the scene or a folder.

by ITOOSOFT
SplineOffset is a modifier for Autodesk 3ds Max that clones and offsets splines, creating multiple clones with incremental offset, translation, and rotation. It works fully non-destructively and can heal overlapping splines.

FAST ARCHITECTURE Trial is a procedural mesh object for 3ds Max that generates architectural structures with parameters you can adjust in real time. It creates an FA_Building object usable like any standard 3ds Max object.

by SiNi Software
Scatter by SiNi Software is a free 3ds Max tool for distributing 3D geometry across large surfaces. Add objects, proxies and cache files, then use a distribution map that can place up to one million points.

by Autodesk, Inc.
Explode Geometry is a 3ds Max plug-in that breaks one or more selected scene nodes into individual three- or four-sided faces, with options to add modifiers and refine the resulting geometry.
