Zoetrope Z COLR is a collection of minimalist, animated background generators for title backgrounds, slides, color compositing elements and lighting effects. Zoetrope partnered with the FxFactory platform to bring multi-application support to After Effects, Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, Final Cut Pro X and Motion.
The bundle includes four generators. Z Breath is a two-channel gradient similar to a vignette, where the inner color expands and contracts over time; slow speeds keep the effect subtle, while fast speeds approach a flicker that can simulate film projection or other lighting effects, and the inner shape is freely resizable for asymmetric compositions. Z Bars expresses five user-selected colors as vertical bars meandering across the screen at various ratios, sizes and relationships. Z CMYK applies a CMYK filter over color gradient sources with oscillators modulating key parameters. Z Fields is a soft, oscillating five-color gradient on the vertical or horizontal axis.
Each generator ships with a preset system for exploring factory settings and saving your own looks, along with an integrated color picker that works with color resources such as Adobe Kuler. Zoetrope Z COLR runs on Apple Silicon and Intel processors through FxFactory, which is a free download.
