Why we like it

AccelCurve stands out in the toolfarm library for handling easing curves with three or more points and for showing velocity and acceleration graphs After Effects does not provide on its own.

What is AccelCurve?

AccelCurve is an easing extension for After Effects that focuses on curves with three or more points, extending easing past the two-point setup the application provides on its own. It can automatically analyze the easing of selected keyframes and apply it to others in a single click, removing manual curve matching. Some properties, such as paths, are not supported.

Curve editing happens directly on the graph: add midpoints with Shift-click and remove them with Alt-click. When a curve uses three or more points, intermediate keyframes are generated automatically between the selected keyframes so the shape of the easing curve is preserved. AccelCurve includes 24 ready-to-use presets built from 3-point and 4-point curves, and you can save edited curves as custom presets organized into groups, then reorder, rename, move them between groups, and export or import them.

The extension also displays velocity and acceleration graphs that are not available in After Effects, and its interface can switch between vertical and horizontal layouts with adjustable graph and preset sizes. It supports After Effects 2023 through 2026.

Frequently asked questions

Does AccelCurve work with After Effects 2024?

AccelCurve supports After Effects 2023, 2024, 2025, and 2026, so recent releases of the application are covered. It runs as an easing extension for those versions, letting you analyze and apply easing curves within your project. If you work across multiple machines or a studio setup, confirming that each install runs one of these four supported versions is the safest way to be sure AccelCurve will load. For the latest compatibility details, the developer's page from grape design is the place to check.

What happens when I use curves with more than two points in AccelCurve?

AccelCurve lets you build easing with three or more points, and when you use such a curve, intermediate keyframes are automatically generated between the selected keyframes to preserve the shape of the easing curve. This is how it extends easing beyond the standard two-point setup After Effects offers. One thing to note: some properties, such as paths, are not supported, so the analyze-and-apply workflow will not cover every property type. For everything else, the added keyframes keep the curve shape intact as intended.

How do I add or remove points on a curve in AccelCurve?

AccelCurve handles point editing directly on the curve: add midpoints with Shift-click and remove them with Alt-click. This keeps editing intuitive as you move past two points into three- and four-point shapes. Alongside manual editing, AccelCurve ships with 24 ready-to-use presets built from 3-point and 4-point curves, and you can save your own edited curves as custom presets organized into groups. Custom curves can be reordered, renamed, moved between groups, and exported or imported for reuse across projects.

Is AccelCurve free to use?

AccelCurve is listed as free in this catalog, so you can add it to After Effects without a purchase noted here. Licensing terms can change over time, though, so for the current details on cost, usage, and any conditions, the developer's page from grape design is the authoritative place to check before you rely on it in production. That page will also carry the most up-to-date information on updates and the supported After Effects versions.
