After Ease earns its spot for turning bounce and elastic setups into an adjustable UI, then letting you commit the result as editable keyframes.
After Ease is a panel from KraftyFX that gives After Effects an intuitive UI for tuning and creating bounce and elastic animations. Instead of setting up these curves by hand, you design the motion in the panel and then apply it through expressions or bake it into keyframes on your timeline.
The interface pairs a live preview with rich parameters, so you can shape a curve and see the motion as you adjust it. Smart baking converts those expressions into keys you can tweak further. After Ease works on your selected numeric properties and extends past Position and Scale to bake expressions onto mask and shape paths.
Compatibility spans After Effects 2022, 2021, 2020, CC 2019, CC 2018, CC 2017, CC 2015.3, CC 2015, and CC 2014. Installation instructions come inside the downloaded package, with separate manual steps for OSX and Windows if you need them. The plugin was last updated on January 19, 2024.

After Ease lists compatibility with After Effects 2022, 2021, 2020, CC 2019, CC 2018, CC 2017, CC 2015.3, CC 2015, and CC 2014, so CC 2014 is covered. Support for CC 2018 was added back in version 1.1.3. If you are running a release outside that range, check the developer's page for the current compatibility list before installing, since the supported versions can change as the plugin is updated over time.
After Ease ships with installation instructions inside the downloaded package, so start there once you have the file. If you run into problems, the developer points you to the ZXP FAQ or the forums for help. Separate manual installation instructions are provided for both OSX and Windows, covering cases where the standard install does not go through. Follow the included instructions first, then fall back to the manual steps for your operating system if you hit issues.
After Ease goes beyond Position and Scale by baking expressions onto mask and shape paths. You apply its motion curves to your selected numeric properties, then use smart baking to convert those expressions into keyframes. This means the bounce and elastic curves you design in the panel can be committed as editable keys on paths, not just on standard transform properties, giving you keyframes you can continue to tweak afterward.
After Ease is listed as free in this catalog. For the current licensing terms, head to the developer's page, since those terms can change over time. One note from the changelog: version 1.1.4 included a fix for a Windows 10 licensing error, so if you hit a licensing issue on Windows, make sure you are on the latest version.
