Flicker Free is a de-flickering plugin from Digital Anarchy that removes flicker from video footage inside After Effects, Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve and other supported hosts. It ships with presets for different types of footage, so you can pick a de-flicker preset and drag and drop it onto a clip. No pre-analysis is required for it to work.
The plugin was designed for time lapse videography, where exposure shifts between frames show up as flicker on playback. It also handles slow-motion footage, rolling bands caused by a camera running out of sync with LED or fluorescent lights, and drone footage. Motion Compensation and Detect Motion use optical flow algorithms to detect and separate independently moving objects, even in the presence of camera motion, for repairing footage that was previously unfixable.
GPU acceleration is included. Flicker Free runs on Windows 10 and later and macOS High Sierra and later, with support for Intel and Silicon chips on Mac.

Flicker Free supports Adobe After Effects CC2015 and later, Adobe Premiere Pro CC2015 and later, Final Cut Pro X 10.5 and higher, Avid systems that support the AVX2 plugin format, and other OpenFX host applications, which covers DaVinci Resolve. Across these hosts the workflow is the same: choose a de-flicker preset and drag and drop it onto your clip, with no pre-analysis required. If you run an older version of Windows, the developer notes that older builds may be available through a request form on their page.
Flicker Free runs on Windows 10 and later and on macOS High Sierra and later, including macOS 11 and later. On Mac it supports both Intel and Silicon chips. Older builds may be available for Windows 7 or 8 — if you are on an older version of Windows, the developer suggests using a request form on their page to check whether a compatible version exists. Digital Anarchy states its products are kept up to date to run in the latest versions of the operating system and host applications.
Flicker Free does not require any pre-analysis to work. You choose a de-flicker preset and drag and drop it on top of your clip. Because the strobing tends to stay consistent throughout a given piece of footage, if the plugin works on a couple of seconds of your video it will remove flicker across the rest of it. The presets are tuned settings that often remove flicker instantly or need only minor tweaking, making them starting points for different types of footage.
Flicker Free handles footage with lots of movement and moving subjects through its Motion Compensation and Detect Motion features. These use optical flow algorithms to detect and delineate independently moving objects, even in the presence of camera motion. Simply applying a de-flicker effect can minimize flicker but also cause ghosting — echoes from the other frames the plugin analyzes. The optical flow algorithms separate moving subjects to reduce that, which makes it possible to repair poor quality video or footage that was previously unfixable.
