Dog Fight Generator earns its place in the superhive library by turning a menu of named maneuvers into procedural two-plane dogfights, calculating banking, transitions and role-swaps rather than leaving them to hand-keying.
Dog Fight Generator is a Blender add-on that creates animated 3D aerial combat sequences between two airplanes, automating the flight-path animation so you can produce procedural dogfights directly in the 3D Viewport. Single Mode generates one specific maneuver, while Combo Mode chains up to five moves in sequence, automatically working out the transition bridges and the tactical role-swaps between attacker and defender.
You can draw from ten standard aerial combat moves, including the Immelmann Turn, Split-S, Pugachev's Cobra, Barrel Roll, High and Low Yo-Yo, Wingover, Lag Displacement Roll, Scissors, and Defensive Break Turn. The add-on calculates realistic banking in corners from the flight path's curvature and can simulate variable speed, slowing planes in vertical climbs and speeding them up in dives. Built-in Chase, Static, and Dynamic camera setups follow the action, with dynamic tracking that switches targets to match role swaps in a combo.
Visual effects include volumetric wingtip vapor trails, animated missile firing with adjustable timings, and procedural turbulence layers. You can adjust each move's frame duration, transition length, and plane colors, and swap the procedural stand-in models for your own fighter jet and missile models.
Dog Fight Generator is best for blender artists who want to generate animated aerial combat sequences between two aircraft without keyframing the flight paths by hand.
Dog Fight Generator is completely free to download and use.
Dog Fight Generator lists compatibility with Blender 5.1 and works with both the Cycles and Eevee render engines. It's built as a Blender add-on and is marked as Blender Extension compatible, released under the GPL license. After installing, it's accessed from the new Dogfight tab in the 3D Viewport Sidebar. For the most current version and compatibility details, check the developer's page.
Dog Fight Generator is reached by opening the right-side Sidebar with the N key in the Blender 3D Viewport, then clicking the new Dogfight tab. From there you select the maneuvers you want, adjust your scene settings, and click generate to build the sequence. The add-on can produce a complete two-plane dogfight this way, whether you pick a single move or a chained combo. Full documentation is provided to walk through the settings.
Dog Fight Generator provides procedural stand-in models by default, so it works out of the box without any assets of your own. It can also detect and use your custom fighter jet and missile models when you'd rather fly specific aircraft. Alongside the models, you can adjust the frame duration of each move, the length of transitions, and the colors of the planes, giving you control over both the look and the timing of the generated sequence.
Dog Fight Generator includes ten standard aerial combat moves, among them the Immelmann Turn, Split-S, Pugachev's Cobra, Barrel Roll, High and Low Yo-Yo, Wingover, Lag Displacement Roll, Scissors, and Defensive Break Turn. Single Mode generates one specific maneuver, while Combo Mode chains up to five in sequence. In Combo Mode the add-on automatically calculates the transition bridges between moves and the tactical role-swaps between attacker and defender, so the chained sequence flows as one continuous fight.
Dog Fight Generator is listed as free here, though licensing can change over time, so for the current terms it's best to check the developer's page directly. The add-on is released under the GPL license and is marked as Blender Extension compatible. A demo video is also available if you'd like to see more before downloading, and full documentation is included to guide you through the maneuver and scene settings.
