MediaReactor Workstation is a direct plugin version of Drastic's MediaReactor file translation system, built to give editors access to a wide range of file formats. It reads and writes content across the creative software and devices you use, avoiding transcoding steps, and handles high quality conversion on the fly, covering formats from OMF JPEG through to camera acquisition formats from Weisscam, Phantom, Sony and ARRI.
Beyond After Effects and Premiere Pro, the package provides plugin interfaces for Adobe Media Encoder, Filmworkz Nucoda, Autodesk Flame, Smoke and Lustre, Assimilate SCRATCH and SCRATCH Lab, Avid Media Composer, Symphony and NewsCutter, plus QuickTime Player, Windows Media Player and DirectShow. On macOS it connects to QuickTime at multiple levels, providing codecs, image and movie importers and exporters, and low level data handlers, so QuickTime enabled applications can access still sequences such as DPX, Cineon, ARI and DNG, along with metadata, multi-track audio and video, timecode and closed captioning.
A live event editing feature supports edit-while-recording directly into Media Composer or Premiere when paired with a compatible recorder such as Net-X-Code Server, a Drastic DDR or XOS Hurricane Replay. Recorded material becomes available for editing as it is captured.
