Volumetrix earns its place in the toolfarm library by leaning on the graphics card and FXPlug technology, turning what would otherwise be hours of keyframing and rendering into effects ready within seconds across After Effects and Premiere Pro.
Volumetrix produces light effects and transitions, including glows, glints and distortions, inside After Effects and Premiere Pro. It draws on the graphics card and FXPlug technology, so effects that would otherwise take many hours of keyframing and then rendering are available to use within seconds. The plugin also works with Final Cut Pro X and Motion.
The package supplies over 60 different preset effects. Each can be applied as a transition or as an effect, and the wipe can travel at any angle. You can add rays, glows, glints and distortions, control the width of the wipe, and adjust the intensity of the rays, glows and glints. It works with or without an alpha, and beyond text, any image can be transformed with a couple of mouse clicks.
Volumetrix2 introduced new glows, glints and distortions with a unique animating reveal, all stackable within both the filter and transition plugin. Version 2.2 added five text highlighting presets. Running the plugin requires Noise Industries FxFactory, offered as a free download.

Volumetrix lists support for Adobe After Effects CC, CC 2014 and 2015, along with Adobe Premiere Pro CC, CC 2014 and 2015. It also works with Final Cut Pro X (10.2) and Motion 5.2. All of these run through Noise Industries FxFactory, which the product requires to operate. For updated system requirements, refer to the FxFactory page, since those requirements are maintained there rather than on the plugin listing. Older FxFactory installs may also carry support for FCP7, FCE and previous versions of Motion.
Volumetrix requires Noise Industries FxFactory, available as a free download, to run. FxFactory also comes in a paid Pro version that shares the same system requirements as the free version, so either one supports the plugin. Because FxFactory maintains the current system requirements on its own page, check there before installing to confirm your setup is covered. Older FxFactory installs may still carry support for FCP7, FCE and previous versions of Motion, which is worth noting if you are working across mixed setups.
Volumetrix is listed as free here. Licensing terms can change over time, so check the developer's page for the current details before you download. The plugin still depends on Noise Industries FxFactory to function, and that component is offered as a free download as well, with a paid Pro edition available that carries the same system requirements. The current release is version 2.2, last updated in January 2023, so you can confirm you are getting the latest build.
