What is iZotope Velvet?

iZotope Velvet is a de-esser built around a split between Sibilance and Tonal channels, so you can de-ess, de-click, and reshape only the parts of a vocal that need attention. The Sibilance channel carries a fully featured 6-band dynamic EQ for handling harsh, hissy frequencies.

Hit the Sibilance Learn button and Velvet identifies sibilant frequencies and sets up EQ nodes for you; from there you can adjust or add nodes, scale with one knob, and change filter types. Dynamic Tone Shaping adds independent Lift and Tame knobs, 8 target profiles, and frequency sliders, while the De-Click fader removes mouth sounds, pops, and clicks and tracks repairs with a counter.

Velvet ships with 50 pro presets and includes channel soloing, a threshold for setting the split, a global Delta button, and a mix fader for parallel processing. It's part of the iZotope Catalyst Series alongside Plasma, Aurora, and Cascadia.
