JPEG glitch is a plugin from Zaebects that recreates JPEG-compression glitches inside After Effects. The developers broke the JPEG algorithm to produce realistic glitches, and the effect can act on all levels of the compression algorithm. It runs without programming knowledge, so the JPEG glitch aesthetic is available to everyone.
The plugin is built to work fast, so you don't have to wait for the render, and it includes crash protection that keeps rendered files working as usual. Many combinations of parameters are available, producing a range of results.
JPEG glitch supports After Effects from CC 2015.3 through the 2026 release, and Premiere Pro from 2020 through 2026 following the addition of Premiere Pro support. The current version is 1.0.7, released March 30, 2025.
