LoadUP earns its spot in the aescripts library for a focused job — building loading and progress bars in After Effects — backed by keyboard-driven controls, grouped undos, and a 13-page user guide.
LoadUP is a script for After Effects built to create loading or progress bars fast and easy. It is aimed at artists who make HUDs, UI elements, infographics, charts, and TV or news graphics.
You can create as many bars as you like inside a single composition, each with a unique name. Every bar and its corresponding text layers share the same label color, while each new bar you create is assigned a different label color. Numeric text boxes across the interface respond to the keyboard arrow keys for precise control, and the whole bar creation process can be undone with a single click. Text handling covers tracking, position offset, size, and color.
The script runs as a dockable panel or a floating window depending on the folder it is installed in, and it is language independent, working in every international version of After Effects. That span covers current releases and much older ones, so it should fit most existing After Effects setups. The current release is version 1.75, updated on September 19, 2024, which fixed a reflection issue on 32-bit color depth compositions and added a third Randomize button that randomizes all effect controls except the size of an already created bar.
