mamoworld Caption Cat brings animated, customizable captions to DaVinci Resolve, going beyond the styling and animation limits of Resolve's built-in caption tools. It runs fully integrated inside Resolve, so there's no need to switch applications or upload files to third-party services.
Captioning follows a three-step workflow: generate a subtitle track, choose and customize a preset, then apply your subtitles. Subtitle tracks can come from Resolve Studio's built-in transcription, Caption Cat's own AI-powered speech-to-text, or imported SRT files. Its transcription is powered by OpenAI's Whisper and supports 112 languages, and includes support for the Whisper small and large models plus custom Whisper parameters.
Presets are drag-and-drop and function as regular DaVinci Resolve title templates, with versions for Landscape and Vertical & Square formats. You can adjust animations, colors, fonts and more, and save reusable presets for consistent branding. Social media safe zones overlay directly in the viewer, showing where captions might overlap app UI elements so you can reposition them.
