Why we like it

Mantra earns its place in the aescripts library for pairing 360/VR VFX with AR content creation across both After Effects and Premiere Pro, backed by Mettle's own 3DNA rendering engine.

What is Mantra?

Mantra is a Mettle plugin for AR content creation in After Effects and Premiere Pro, and includes 360/VR VFX to stylize footage. It supports rectilinear (flat), monoscopic and stereoscopic (over/under) formats.

At its core is Mettle 3DNA, a proprietary 3D rendering engine that enables volumetric workflows. Spherify transforms a layer into a sphere, while the Mobius Transform effect adds a Virtual Dolly and Virtual Jib to stationary 360° footage. You can create 360° Wormholes and Little Planets from 360° footage, and drag and drop effects onto footage to interpolate from 0% to 100% with keyframeable, customisable controls.

The built-in Mantra Node Panel stacks and layers effects and handles scripting automatically, and the Globe Preview Panel lets you work in 360° mono and stereo while previewing the sphere and HMD POV. Audio-reactive features link the VFX to your audio, and Mantra can also create procedural textures for use in 3D programs. It runs on Mac and Windows. Version 2.25.3 was released on December 24, 2024.
