Middle Measure earns its place in the aescripts library as a focused measuring utility that reaches into 3D and generates expression-driven results.
Middle Measure brings measuring directly into After Effects. It lets you measure and find the middle in the comp using nulls, objects, layers and layer edges. From single objects to layer edges, the tool helps you locate midpoints across your composition, and it works in both 2D and 3D setups.
Beyond measurement, Middle Measure can create dynamic expressions to auto center layers and generate lines between layers, among other functions. These expression-driven results let you tie positions and connections to your layers, so those relationships stay intact as your comp changes.
Version 1.1 tightened up the UI, added help tips and introduced Universal Language support. The plugin is compatible with After Effects 2020 through 2025, and a demo video is available on the developer's page.
Middle Measure is best for after Effects users who need to measure distances and find midpoints between layers, nulls and objects, including in 3D.

Middle Measure is compatible with After Effects 2020, 2021, 2022, 2023, 2024 and 2025. If you run any of these versions you can install and use the tool as described. Middle Measure works in 3D as well as 2D. You can measure and find the middle in the comp using nulls, objects, layers and layer edges, and its dynamic expressions extend to 3D setups. This lets you auto center layers and generate lines between layers whether your composition is flat or built with 3D layers in After Effects. Support for 3D means the same measuring and centering functions carry into your depth-based compositions.
Middle Measure version 1.1, released on August 7, 2025, tightened up the UI, added help tips and introduced Universal Language support. The initial 1.0 release arrived on June 27, 2025. If you are running an earlier build, updating to 1.1 gives you the refreshed interface and language support described in the changelog on the developer's page. These updates focus on the interface rather than adding new measuring functions, so your existing workflow stays the same.
