Why we like it

MotionX earns its spot in the Adobe Exchange library as a one-click way to bring ready-made motion designs into After Effects, Premiere Pro and, as of version 1.2.0, Adobe Audition.

What is MotionX?

MotionX, from Oxygen Art, gives After Effects and Premiere Pro users a collection of ready-made motion designs. You browse the available designs and import them into your timeline with one click, then apply them with one click as well. The tool is aimed at presentation, social media, and video project work.

Version 1.2.0 broadened what the tool covers. It added support for Adobe Audition, and a single package can now be installed across multiple Adobe apps, with each app showing only the items it supports. The update also brought the ability to apply After Effects presets (.ffx), play preview sounds where available such as transition previews with SFX, and adjust the timing and markers of an imported composition using In-Out, Stretch, Loop, Cut and None modes.

MotionX is listed here as free. For current licensing and support, check Oxygen Art's page. It sits within the Adobe Exchange library.

Frequently asked questions

Which Adobe apps and versions does MotionX support?

MotionX works with Premiere Pro 17.0 and later, After Effects 20.0 and later, and Adobe Audition 22.0 and later. Audition support arrived in version 1.2.0. The same package can be installed across multiple Adobe apps at once, and each app displays only the items it can use, so, for example, Motion Graphics templates won't appear in After Effects even when the package includes them. Check Oxygen Art's page for the details that match your setup.

Can MotionX apply After Effects presets?

MotionX can apply After Effects presets in the .ffx format, an ability added in version 1.2.0 to support more packages. Alongside preset application, it can play preview sounds when they are available, such as transition previews that include SFX. Designs import into your timeline with one click and apply with one click. For the full range of what a given package includes, refer to Oxygen Art's page.

Can I change the timing of an imported composition in MotionX?

MotionX lets you change the timing and markers of an imported composition. The supported timing modes are In-Out, Stretch, Loop, Cut and None, giving you a few ways to fit a design to your edit. This was added in version 1.2.0. Designs are brought in and applied with one click each, and preview sounds play where available. See Oxygen Art's page for more on working with individual packages.

Is MotionX free?

MotionX is listed here as free. Licensing terms can change, so for the current arrangement and any support details it's best to check Oxygen Art's page directly. The plugin is available through the Adobe Exchange library and works with After Effects 20.0 and later, Premiere Pro 17.0 and later, and Adobe Audition 22.0 and later. Version 1.2.0, released on 2025-06-13, is the build reflected here, and it added the Audition support along with several other features.
