Why we like it

Notecraft earns its place in the aescripts library by tying notes and tasks directly to timecodes and sequences within Premiere Pro.

What is Notecraft?

Notecraft runs in Premiere Pro as a note-taking and task management panel. Press @ anywhere to insert the current playhead position, and click any timecode in your notes to jump the timeline straight to that frame. Your notes save automatically to a JSON file placed next to your project.

Type and press Enter to add a task, or paste multi-line text to generate bulk tasks at once. Mark tasks with 🌐 to see them across all sequences, and right-click to duplicate tasks to other sequences. Focus and Break modes run automatic 25-minute and 5-minute cycles with visual color coding, session logging records every completed session in the history log, and gentle audio feedback signals when a timer completes.

Version 1.5.0 adds task priorities of Urgent, High, Medium, or Low, inline task comments, and a sort and group menu covering Manual, Timecode, Priority, Date Added, or A–Z. It also brings a searchable sequence selector, indicators for sequences that already contain notes or tasks, and automatic note transfer when a sequence is duplicated. Compatible with Premiere Pro 2026 back through 2022.

Frequently asked questions

What Premiere Pro versions does Notecraft support?

Notecraft is compatible with Premiere Pro 2026, 2025, 2024, 2023, and 2022. If you run any of these releases, the panel supports your version. For editions outside this range, check the developer's page for the current compatibility list before installing. Version 1.5.0, released June 30, 2026, is the most recent update covered here, so pairing it with a supported Premiere Pro release keeps the timecode, task, and sequence features working as described.

How does Notecraft save my notes and tasks?

Notecraft saves your notes automatically to a JSON file placed next to your project, so entries are written without a manual save step. Notes and tasks are tracked per sequence, and tasks marked with the 🌐 icon appear across all sequences. When a sequence is duplicated, Notecraft can automatically copy notes and tasks from the original sequence, and the sequence menu shows an indicator for sequences that already contain notes or tasks.

How do I insert and use timecodes in Notecraft?

Notecraft lets you press @ anywhere to insert the current playhead position as a timecode. Once a timecode is in your notes, click it to jump the timeline straight to that frame, linking your written notes to specific points in the edit. Timecodes can also drive ordering, since the sort and group menu added in version 1.5.0 includes a Timecode option alongside Manual, Priority, Date Added, and A–Z.

Is Notecraft free?

Notecraft is listed as free in this catalog, so no price is shown here. Licensing terms can change, so check the developer's page on aescripts for the current details before you download. The listing covers version 1.5.0, updated June 30, 2026, with compatibility for Premiere Pro 2026 back to 2022. A demo video is also available if you want to see more before installing.

What's new in Notecraft 1.5.0?

Notecraft 1.5.0 adds task priorities of Urgent, High, Medium, or Low shown visually on each task, plus inline task comments displayed below the task title. It introduces a sort and group menu for ordering tasks by Manual, Timecode, Priority, Date Added, or A–Z, and grouping by Priority or Tag, with preferences remembered. The sequence selector is now searchable, sequences containing notes or tasks show an indicator, and a tabbed Help and Info modal plus a UI size slider were added.
