Ouroboros 2 is an After Effects script for creating multiple strokes on one single path. Built by Sander van Dijk and Remco Janssen, it can generate centered Line, Square, Circle and Triangle shapes, then place several strokes along the same path and control them together.
Each stroke can carry a random width, opacity, length and offset, while a single color control drives their color. Stroke width can be maintained when the original path scales. You can trim strokes individually or trim them all using the original stroke, and link the Start and End to that original stroke. Dots can be added at the start and end of each line, and you can change stroke direction, cap, join and the random seed.
Animation options include delaying each stroke over time, randomizing those delays, adding continuous or random speed per stroke, and keyframing the speed of all strokes. Version 2.0.4 runs on After Effects from CC 2015.3 through the 2025 release.
