Power Null earns a spot in the toolfarm library for turning null creation into a click-and-drag action, with snapping, parenting and property linking handled from the panel.
Power Null adds nulls to After Effects compositions through direct interaction with the comp. Click to place a null instantly, drag to position it, and snap to edges, corners and anchor points. You can also drop a null at the center of the comp in one step.
When layers are selected, they're parented to the new null, and selected properties are linked to it — or to an existing null. The tool can also center anchor points and use customizable names. Its panel is dockable and keyboard mappable, and it's built to stay live and interactive.
A Settings option lets you use Shape Layers in place of nulls. Path properties can be linked to masks on the null, and text properties can be linked to the null's marker comments. Power Null works with After Effects 2025, 2024 and 2023, and a demo video is available.

Power Null can create Shape Layer nulls instead of standard nulls — the option lives in the Settings menu and was introduced in version 1.1. With shape layers in use, path properties can be linked to the masks on the null. This gives an alternative to the default null layer while keeping the same click-and-drag placement, snapping and parenting behaviour. To switch between modes, open the Settings menu and choose your preferred layer type.
