Why we like it

Qshot 2 earns its spot in the Superhive library for turning camera moves into stackable, reorderable shots that render as a single animation. It ranks 189 there and holds a 4-star rating across 10 ratings, published under a GPL license by Chipp Walters.

What is Qshot 2?

Qshot 2, formerly Quick Shot, is a Blender addon for creating multiple camera animations for advertising, visualization, or just for fun. It follows a non-destructive model for editing the timeline. Each animation is a shot that moves the camera from point A to point B, with its own duration in frames and a motion interpolation set to linear or ease in and out. Stack shots on top of each other to build a timeline, and when you render the animation they all render as one.

Set each camera's in and out keyframes without explicitly selecting the camera, pressing i, and choosing a keyframe type. Change a shot's duration, interpolation, or order at any time, with the cameras and timeline updating to match. Because Qshot 2 animates cameras, it works with EEVEE motion blur, and it is aimed especially at EEVEE users who want quick visualizations, though Cycles users can use it too.

Version 2.1.3 adds multiple scene compatibility, including full scene copy, along with drivers and camera shake. Documentation is available on the developer's page.

Who is Qshot 2 best for?

Frequently asked questions

Which Blender versions does Qshot 2 support?

Qshot 2 lists support for Blender 2.82 through 4.0, covering 2.82, 2.83, 2.9, 2.91, 2.92, 2.93, 3.0, 3.1, 3.2, 3.3, 3.4, 3.5, 3.6, and 4.0. That range covers every version from the 2.82 build up to the 4.0 release, so a wide span of Blender installs is included. If you are on a specific build, check the developer's page and the documentation there to confirm compatibility before installing.

Does Qshot 2 work with EEVEE motion blur?

Qshot 2 works with EEVEE motion blur because it animates cameras. The addon is aimed especially at EEVEE users who want quick visualizations of their models, though Cycles users can use it too. Each shot moves a camera from point A to point B over a set number of frames, and stacking those shots produces a single rendered animation. For setup specifics, the documentation is available on the developer's page.

What's new in Qshot 2 version 2.1.3?

Qshot 2 version 2.1.3 adds multiple scene compatibility, including full scene copy, along with drivers and camera shake. These join the core workflow of building shots, each moving a camera from one point to another, and stacking them into a timeline that renders as a single animation. A demo video covering the newer version is available. For full details and setup, see the documentation on the developer's page.

Is Qshot 2 free?

Qshot 2 is listed as free here in the catalog, and it is published under a GPL license by Chipp Walters. Licensing terms can change, so check the developer's page for the current details before you download. The addon ships with documentation, and support is available through the developer's Discord and email channels for questions about installation or use. Refer to the developer's page for the most up-to-date licensing information.
