Quake Handheld Camera earns its place in the superhive library for turning camera-motion setup into a one-tap, fully procedural step, backed by more than 30 presets and a random generator for custom shakes.
Quake Handheld Camera is a procedural addon for Blender from EdenWeby 3D, built to make animations look realistic through handheld-style camera motion. It creates the movement for you with one tap, so there's no need for motion tracking or manual f-curve editing on your angle shots. It's part of the Blender Quake Addons range, sitting alongside Quake Motion Camera, which carries more features like camera shake and camera tools.
The addon ships with more than 30 presets covering movement, phones, running, car chase and others. A Random Motion Generator produces random shakes on the axis you select, letting you build your own unique motion. Three intensity levels are available: Low for low-speed shakes, Medium for shakes that can be seen, and High for intense camera motion. The Mix Channels option generates rotations and locations together.
Quake Handheld Camera was built for Blender 2.93 and above and lists support across versions from 2.8 through 3.5. It can run on Blender 2.80, though that isn't recommended due to changed APIs. The addon is released under the GPL license, includes documentation, and a demo video is available.
Quake Handheld Camera is best for blender animators who want realistic handheld-style camera motion on their angle shots without motion tracking or manual f-curve work.
Quake Handheld Camera is completely free to download and use.
Quake Handheld Camera lists support across Blender versions from 2.8 through 3.5, but it was built for Blender 2.93 and above. It can run on Blender 2.80, though the developer doesn't recommend it because of the many changed APIs in that release. For the best experience, use 2.93 or newer. In between, the listing covers 2.9, 2.91, 2.92 and the 3.x series up to 3.5, so most recent builds are included.
Quake Handheld Camera removes the need for motion tracking or manual f-curve editing. The addon is fully procedural and creates realistic camera motion and handheld effects for your angle shots with a single tap. You can start from more than 30 presets covering movement, phones, running and car chase, or use the Random Motion Generator to produce shakes on the axis you choose, giving you your own unique result rather than a fixed motion.
Quake Handheld Camera's Random Motion Generator offers three intensity levels. Low generates low-speed shakes, Medium generates shakes that can be seen, and High generates intense camera motions. Alongside these, the Mix Channels option lets the generator produce rotations and locations together rather than on a single channel, so you can combine both types of movement into one custom camera shake on the axis you select.
Quake Handheld Camera is listed as free here in our catalog, so there's no price to report on this page. The addon is released under the GPL license and ships with documentation. For current licensing details and any terms attached to the download, head to the developer's page from EdenWeby 3D. A demo video is available as well, and the addon is part of the wider Blender Quake Addons range.
