Relativity earns its place in the aescripts library for combining layer arrangement, mirroring, and randomized offsets in one panel, with support spanning After Effects from CC 2019 to 2026.
Relativity is a layer-arrangement panel for After Effects, developed by Freshmograph. It positions layers horizontally and vertically in rows, columns, grids, and circles, or randomizes them based on their relationship to other layers and the composition. It fully supports separate dimensions for position across all of its commands, including offset, grids, radial arrays, and duplicate.
The plugin includes mirror commands — horizontal, vertical, duplicate and mirror, and manual source and target mirroring — along with the option to use a layer as a custom pivot point. Independent Dimensions Offset works alongside random position, scale, and rotation offsets, while Auto Row and Auto Column commands handle single-axis layouts. Grids and radial arrays can generate controllers that provide more animation features.
Sliders respond to modifier keys: CTRL or ALT nudge values by one, SHIFT resets to zero, and the X, Y, and Z buttons invert values. A work area keys utility selects every keyframe in the work area for quick easing changes, and linear spatial keys create a linear path from generated curve paths. Relativity runs on After Effects from CC 2019 through 2026.
Relativity is best for after Effects artists arranging and offsetting multiple layers into rows, columns, grids, and circular arrays.
Relativity is completely free to download and use.
Relativity lists compatibility with After Effects 2026, 2025, 2024, 2023, 2022, 2021, 2020, and CC 2019, covering a wide span of releases. The current version is 1.6.5, last updated on May 16, 2026, so it works across older CC 2019 projects as well as the most recent 2026 builds. For the definitive requirements before installing, check the developer's page from Freshmograph to confirm the download matches your setup.
Relativity arranges layers horizontally and vertically in rows, columns, grids, and circles. It can also randomize layers based on their relationship to other layers and the composition. Alongside these arrangements, it offers mirror commands, custom pivot points using a layer, and random position, scale, and rotation offsets. Grids and radial arrays include the option to create controllers that provide more animation features, giving you additional control over generated layouts.
Relativity fully supports separate dimensions for position on all commands, including offset, grids, radial arrays, and duplicate. This means X and Y position can be handled independently across the plugin's operations rather than only in a single command. Combined with the Independent Dimensions Offset and the random position, scale, and rotation offsets, it gives fine control over how layers are spaced and varied across a composition.
Relativity is listed as free in this catalog, so there is no price figure to report here. Licensing terms can change over time, so for the most current details on cost, usage, and any conditions attached to the download, refer to the developer's page. That page is also the best place to confirm the available version and its compatibility with your After Effects installation before you use it in a project.
