Earns its place in the aescripts library as a free render-queue script covering After Effects 2020 through 2026, with v1.3 adding project-folder saving and prefix controls.
RenderQ handles rendering in After Effects by queuing and batch queuing movies, stills and thumbnails to new or pre-selected locations. Each of its four customizable buttons can be set to render a single or dual output module plus a still frame, and you can choose between four different still frame outputs.
You can add a temporary prefix or suffix to all renders, or attach a custom name or output module name to any output. Still frames can be created from a set point in any comp or from the Current Time Indicator. The Render+ button renders stills, removes extra suffix numbers, and brings the rendered folder to the foreground, while the render locations button reopens the folders most recently rendered to. Save and pick from an unlimited number of folder locations, including the project folder, or have a render location prompt appear.
Version 1.3 supports After Effects 2020 through 2026 and adds prefix options across renders along with saving to the project folder. RenderQ sits at rank 258 in the aescripts library.
RenderQ is best for after Effects users who render movies, stills and thumbnails to multiple locations and want batch queuing with reusable, button-based output presets.
RenderQ is completely free to download and use.
RenderQ is compatible with After Effects 2026, 2025, 2024, 2023, 2022, 2021 and 2020, covering a wide range of recent releases. The current version is 1.3, updated on May 21, 2026. If you are running one of these versions you should be able to use the script. For versions outside this list, check the developer's page for the latest compatibility details before installing.
RenderQ is listed as free in this catalog. It queues and batch queues movies, stills and thumbnails, with four customizable buttons for rendering output modules and combinations. Because licensing terms can change, check the developer's page for current details before you download. That page is also where you will find the files and any notes on how the script is distributed.
RenderQ's Render+ button renders stills and removes the extra suffix numbers from those renders, then automatically brings the rendered folder to the foreground so the output is immediately visible. If you want to revisit earlier work, the separate render locations button reopens the folders most recently rendered to using Render+. Together these two controls get you to finished files quickly, without manually digging through folders to find the latest output on disk.
RenderQ can add a temporary suffix to all renders, or attach a custom name or the output module name to any output. Version 1.3 added a main prefix option, module prefix options in every button's settings, and a stills prefix option. These prefix options also build render folder paths and create folders if none exist, so output can be organized as it renders.
