Sfx Studio earns a spot in the aescripts library by combining Creative Commons sound search and AI sound generation in a single Premiere Pro extension. Version 2.0.0 is its initial release.
Sfx Studio is a Premiere Pro extension from Visu Tools that puts sound effect sourcing and AI generation inside the editing app. It connects to Freesound.org, where you can search a library of more than 500,000 Creative Commons sounds, and it can also generate custom sound effects with AI.
Sounds play through a built-in player, so you can preview a clip before committing to it. Once you find what you need, import it into your project or drop it straight onto the timeline without leaving the app.
The library spans several Creative Commons license types. CC0 sounds sit in the public domain and need no attribution, with commercial use allowed. CC-BY sounds also permit commercial use but require crediting the author, while CC-BY-NC sounds require credit and rule out commercial or monetized use.
Sfx Studio is best for premiere Pro editors who want to find, generate, and add sound effects without leaving the app.

Sfx Studio works with Premiere Pro 2026, 2025, 2024, 2023, and 2022. On any of these releases you can search sounds, preview them in the built-in player, and import or drop them onto your timeline from within the app. The current version is 2.0.0, released July 6, 2026 as the initial release. Sfx Studio is listed as free here in the catalog. Licensing can change, so check the developer's page for the current terms before you download. Keep in mind that the sounds it pulls from Freesound.org carry their own Creative Commons licenses, which set separate conditions on attribution and commercial use depending on whether a sound is CC0, CC-BY, or CC-BY-NC.
Sfx Studio searches Freesound.org, giving access to more than 500,000 Creative Commons sounds. Alongside that library, it can generate custom sound effects with AI.
