Why we like it

SMP Pro earns a spot in the aescripts library for turning per-property busywork into composition-wide selections and batch edits. It's a version 1.0.0 initial release that already covers scoped scanning, value and expression filters, and one-click expression injection, and it currently sits around rank 67 on aescripts.

What is SMP Pro?

SMP Pro is a property selection and editing tool for After Effects, built by Othman Ahmed to work across an entire composition rather than one property group at a time. You scan all layers or restrict the search to selected layers only, then narrow results with filters for matching values, expressions, or animation state.

Once a set of properties is selected, you can act on all of them at once. Type an expression in the SMP Pro editor and click Inject to apply the code to every selected property simultaneously, or batch-remove keyframes and expressions in a single pass. A Limit Results option caps the selection count to keep large projects from freezing.

Typical jobs include deleting keyframes from static properties that were accidentally keyed, changing every Fill Color that matches an old brand value, and injecting a loopOut() expression into many rotation properties in one click. SMP Pro runs on After Effects 2021 through 2026 and is listed here as free.

Who is SMP Pro best for?

SMP Pro is best for batch-editing properties across large After Effects compositions: cleaning up stray keyframes, updating repeated values, or injecting expressions into many properties at once.

How much does SMP Pro cost?

SMP Pro is completely free to download and use.

Key features

  • Scope scanning: scan the entire composition hierarchy, or restrict the search to selected layers only
  • Match Value filter to select every property sharing the exact same value, such as all layers at 50% opacity
  • Expressions Only filter to isolate properties that contain expressions
  • Animation State filter for Animated (has keyframes) or Static (no keyframes) properties
  • Inject expressions from the SMP Pro editor into every selected property simultaneously
  • Batch removal of keyframes and expressions in a single pass

Frequently asked questions

Does SMP Pro work with After Effects 2024?

SMP Pro supports After Effects 2026, 2025, 2024, 2023, 2022, and 2021, so a 2024 installation is covered. The current release is version 1.0.0, published on March 21, 2026 as the initial release. Because it works across that range of versions, you can run it whether your project sits on a recent build or an older one. For the latest compatibility details and any newer builds, check the developer's page before installing.

How does SMP Pro apply an expression to many properties at once?

SMP Pro works in three steps: select your target properties using the filters, type your expression in the SMP Pro editor, then click Inject to apply the code to every selected property simultaneously. The same batch approach also removes keyframes and expressions in one pass. Because selection comes first, you can inject a single expression, such as loopOut(), into a large set of properties like rotation across many layers in one click.

Can SMP Pro handle large compositions without freezing?

SMP Pro includes a Limit Results feature for large projects, capping the selection count to help prevent After Effects from freezing when a filter would otherwise match a huge number of properties. You choose the scope first, scanning the entire composition hierarchy or restricting the search to selected layers only, which also keeps big selections manageable. This makes it more practical to run composition-wide filters and batch edits on heavier projects.

Is SMP Pro free?

SMP Pro is listed here as free. Pricing and licensing can change over time, so check the developer's page for the current terms before you download or use it in production. The tool is a version 1.0.0 initial release published on March 21, 2026, so confirming the latest licensing details at the source is worth a moment. That page is also the best place to find any newer builds.
