Softbody Simulator is a Blender add-on by Shuhan that covers two workflows: a Chain Simulator and a Bone Simulator. The Chain Simulator generates a chain and adds dynamics to it in five steps, and it ships with a demo curve prepared for quick round chains.
The Bone Simulator adds dynamics to bones in three steps, and any bone can be set as ROOT. For chains, you can add controllers wherever you want, and the add-on automatically backs up the model and curve. Parameters can be modified and the chain re-simulated at any time, so you are not locked into a first result.
Removing a simulation or deleting a chain takes one click, and bone simulations can be removed the same way. Documentation is included, and the add-on is distributed under the GPL license. It lists support for Blender versions from 3.3 through 4.4, with a v1.3 build covering 3.3 through 4.2.
