Text Replacer earns its place in the aescripts library for handling text transfer between mogrts and spreadsheet or srt files across five Premiere Pro versions.
Text Replacer is a Premiere Pro extension from The Machine Must Work for importing and exporting text from After Effects templates. It moves text between mogrts and external formats, so you can edit copy outside the timeline and bring it back in.
The extension exports text from mogrts to a spreadsheet or to an srt file, and it can create mogrts directly from an srt file. You can also choose to export only selected mogrts to a spreadsheet rather than every graphic in a project. Text imported from a spreadsheet flows back into the corresponding mogrts.
Text Replacer runs in Premiere Pro 2025, 2024, 2023, 2022, and 2021. Version 1.7.0 was released on December 1, 2025, and earlier updates addressed spreadsheet import issues, srt creation, and mogrt font handling. Text Replacer is compatible with Premiere Pro 2025, and also runs in 2024, 2023, 2022, and 2021. The most recent release, version 1.7.0 from December 1, 2025, updated the license check. Earlier versions fixed issues affecting specific Premiere builds, including a workaround for a Premiere 2024.2.1 bug when adding mogrts from an srt in the Create tab, which Adobe fixed from Premiere 2024.3 onward. Text Replacer can create mogrts from an srt file, a feature added in version 1.5.0. That same release also added exporting text from mogrts to an srt file, so text can move in both directions between mogrts and srt. Text Replacer exports text from mogrts to a spreadsheet, and you can also import text from a spreadsheet back into your mogrts. Version 1.6.0 added an option to export only selected mogrts to a spreadsheet rather than all of them, and it made the exporter ignore comments during export. Earlier fixes resolved spreadsheet import problems in certain projects and a Mac issue selecting multiple columns when importing text.
