Why we like it

Rubberhose earns its place in the toolfarm library, where it ranks 52, and plays well with other rigging systems like Duik and Limber.

What is Battle Axe Rubberhose?

Battle Axe Rubberhose builds rigs in After Effects, from a single bendy line to a full character. Create a rig with a click or by drawing a path, then style limbs with a collection of presets or build your own. Add bend points anywhere along a hose to make S-curves, fingers, tails, dog legs, strings, octopi, and more.

A hose-parenting and stretchy-bones system connects art layers, so small details and complex shapes can be combined. The RubberPin build system parents pins to a hose. A precomped rig can be reused with After Effects Essential Properties, setting new keyframes and styling variation inside the precomp. Rubberhose is built for nonlinear character creation, keeping everything adjustable so a new rigging idea does not mean trashing keyframes.

First released in 2015, Rubberhose reached version 3 with new concepts built on the same foundation of simplicity. It plays well with other systems like Duik and Limber.
