Bevelizer is a plugin from Dragoy for After Effects, built to create chamfers — also called bevels — for styling text or any other shapes. It arrives at version 1.0 as an initial release and sits in the aescripts library.
Bevelizer offers three modes. Luma detects edges based on brightness, suited to video footage. Alpha uses transparency for clean shape isolation, aimed at text, vectors and logos. Height Map uses luminance directly as height data, suited to displacement maps and grayscale depth images.
Bevelizer also connects to matcap creation. A Free Web Tool runs in your browser with no installation, and One-Click Access launches it from the Matcap Gallery via the Create Matcap button. Smart Jitter adds subtle variations to keep results usable, while Full Shuffle randomly picks curve presets and matcaps. Compatibility spans After Effects from 2026 back through CC 2015.3.
