Why we like it

Earns its place in the aescripts library for its real-time wave visualizer and one-click multi-layer orchestration through a Master Null controller.

What is XOscillator Pro?

XOscillator Pro is a procedural animation suite for After Effects. It generates oscillations—organic heartbeats, elastic bounces, and multi-layer ripples—without setting keyframes. Over 30 oscillation algorithms span physics (Elastic, Bounce, Spring, Damped), noise (Perlin, Random Walk, Smooth Noise), digital waveforms (Square, PWM, Stepped, Sample & Hold), and envelopes (ADSR, Gaussian, Exponential).

A live canvas draws the exact wave curve in real time as you drag sliders, showing phase shifts, frequency changes, and amplitude clamping before applying. Multi-layer patterns—Sequential, Ripple, Cascade, Random, and Pinwheel—can automatically increase or decrease amplitude or frequency as the effect ripples through layers, for results like a wave of scaling dots where center dots move faster than outer ones.

The Create Controller option generates a Master Null with sliders linked to every selected layer, so adjusting one slider changes many layers at once. It can drive arbitrary properties such as Blur Amount, Glow Radius, or Text Tracking, and cycle fill, stroke, or effect colors through RGB space. Compatible with After Effects 2026 and 2025.

Who is XOscillator Pro best for?

XOscillator Pro is best for after Effects artists building procedural, multi-layer motion—oscillations, ripples, and physics-based movement—without keyframing.

How much does XOscillator Pro cost?

XOscillator Pro is completely free to download and use.

Frequently asked questions

Which After Effects versions does XOscillator Pro support?

XOscillator Pro is listed as compatible with After Effects 2026 and 2025. The 1.0.1 update, released June 23 2026, expanded the CEP version range to fix compatibility with After Effects 2022 through 2025, so a broader set of installs is covered. That same release addressed a global loop mode issue, a color amplitude slider sync problem, and a potential crash when the remove-expressions menu was dismissed. For the current supported list, check the developer's page before installing.

Can XOscillator Pro animate properties without keyframes?

XOscillator Pro generates oscillations without setting a single keyframe, from organic heartbeats to elastic bounces and multi-layer ripples. It offers over 30 oscillation algorithms spanning physics, noise, digital waveforms, and envelopes. Beyond built-in effects, you can select an arbitrary property—such as Blur Amount, Glow Radius, or Text Tracking—and XOscillator will drive it. A live canvas draws the exact wave curve in real time as you adjust sliders, showing phase shifts, frequency changes, and amplitude clamping before you apply anything.

How does XOscillator Pro animate many layers at once?

XOscillator Pro handles multi-layer animation through its Create Controller option, which generates a Master Null with sliders linked to every selected layer. Adjusting one slider on that controller changes many layers at once. It also includes layer patterns—Sequential, Ripple, Cascade, Random, and Pinwheel—and a progression setting that automatically increases or decreases amplitude or frequency as the effect ripples through the layers. That combination lets you build effects like a wave of scaling dots where center dots move faster than outer ones.

Is XOscillator Pro free?

XOscillator Pro is listed as free in this catalog. Licensing terms can change, so check the developer's page on aescripts for the current details before downloading. The current build is version 1.0.1, released June 23 2026, following the initial 1.0.0 release on December 26 2025. That 1.0.1 update focused on compatibility fixes, stability improvements, faster panel loading, and cross-platform font rendering on macOS.
