BlenderAe is an extension from Salt Media that connects Blender with After Effects, moving objects and data from Blender into After Effects. It supports vertices, 3D layer transforms, cameras, lights, and vertex support for physics simulations such as cloth, ocean, and soft and rigid bodies.
Layer synchronization lets objects, verts, faces, lights, and cameras sync without creating new layers in After Effects. The glb (glTF) quick exporter sends 3D objects from Blender to After Effects 23.0 and above, and an auto-connect option handles the link to After Effects. You can choose between Orientation or x,y,z rotation, and Blender camera shift x,y is supported, along with vertex normal rotations.
It installs as an extension in Blender 4.2 and above, or as an addon in Blender 3.6 LTS through 4.2. Compatibility spans After Effects 2020 through 2026 and Blender 3.0 through 5.0, on Windows 10 and 11 and MacOS 10.15 to 15. A demo video is available.
