Creation Effects: 3D Flag is an After Effects template that converts an image, text, or video into a fabric flag waving in the wind. Built entirely in After Effects with no plugins required, it curves and oscillates the flag in three dimensions—something After Effects can't normally do with layers—so the flag holds up under 3D camera movements instead of looking flat. The 3D ripples combine with 2D ripples and various warping effects to create the flag simulation.
The flag's movement is customizable through slider controls. Gravity, wind speed, the shape of the ripples, and the color of the flagpole can all be adjusted or animated with keyframes, and you can change ripple speed and shape to simulate different flag sizes or wind speeds. Included are three flag resolutions up to 4K (4000×2000), a 3D flagpole with a metal sphere at the top and ropes that shake in the wind, nine 2D flagpole PNGs, 25 country flags, seven fabric textures, and five sound effects. You can also import your own image of any shape or your own texture.
