CRTX earns its place in the aescripts library for a CRT effect that responds to footage motion, luminance, and edges rather than layering a fixed overlay, with support spanning After Effects and Premiere Pro from CS6 through 2026.
CRTX from Plugin LyfeX is a CRT effect for Adobe After Effects and Premiere Pro that reacts rather than sitting on top as a static overlay. Every frame gets redrawn as if a real beam is painting it, with scan structure, mask patterns, bloom, glow, analog signal chaos, and controllable instability all shifting based on your footage's motion, luminance, and edges.
CRTX treats the image as a living signal, so highlights breathe, colors smear, and sync tears when you ask for them. Controls are grouped into sections including Style, Color Grading, Electron Beam, Surface, Phosphor, Geometry, Camera, Glitch & Instability, Circuit Bending, and Audio, alongside a CRTX Library with import and export and Quality & Performance and Debug & GPU options.

CRTX supports a wide range of Adobe After Effects releases, from CS6 up through 2026. That covers CC, CC 2014, CC 2015, CC 2015.3, CC 2017, CC 2018, CC 2019, and the yearly 2020, 2021, 2022, 2023, 2024, 2025, and 2026 versions. CRTX ships with more than 150 presets. Version 1.1 added over 50 new ones, bringing the total past 150, and they can be managed through the CRTX Library, which includes import and export.
