Depth Scanner uses AI to estimate depth automatically, turning still images and video into depth maps inside After Effects and Premiere Pro. The version 2 release introduces a video depth estimation model built for flicker-free results over multiple frames, along with four additional models for a total of eight, so you can match the model to your footage.
Those depth maps feed a range of post-processing work. Use them for fog, depth-based grading, transitions, converting footage to stereo-3D, slicing footage by pixel depth, and post-process depth of field combined with After Effects' internal blurring tools. More than 20 color maps are included for visual guidance or colorful effects. Paired with Normal Scanner, Depth Scanner supports interactive relighting setups, and you can import the depth and normal pass into any 3D tool to make the relighting geometry aware.
Depth Scanner runs on macOS and Windows. On Windows, the GPU version requires an Nvidia graphics card, and GPU mode may be less stable than CPU mode. A free trial is available to test your configuration before purchase.
