Extreme PBR Nexus earns its place in the superhive library by pairing a collection of over 1800 materials with painting, blending, displacement and FX Layer tools, all built on Blender's native modifiers and refined over seven years of development.
Extreme PBR Nexus is a Blender addon that centers on a ready-to-use library of over 1800 materials, all organized into libraries and categories with tags and a search system. The materials work in both Cycles and Eevee, and displacement or microdisplacement is available for texture-based materials, toggleable on or off and built on Blender's native, non-destructive modifiers.
Beyond the library, the addon lets you texture paint between any of its materials to build weathered or layered surfaces, and blend materials along the Z-axis from the top or the bottom. The FX Layers system adds worn edges and surface imperfections such as scratches and fingerprints in both render engines, while the Shader Overlay mixes all materials in a scene at once for animatable gradients or "Cut Plane" animations.
Other tools include a car paint material that ranges from simple to metallic with flakes, automatically animated water, an anti-tile system that removes texture repetitions on the library's materials and your own, and Visual Mapping Control for adjusting scale, rotation and position in the 3D Viewport. Painted objects can be baked and exported to Unreal Engine or Unity.

Extreme PBR Nexus is compatible with both Cycles and Eevee. Its library of over 1800 materials renders in either engine, and features built on the FX Layers system, including worn edges and surface imperfections such as scratches and fingerprints, are available in both. The Material Override, which lets you selectively replace materials on chosen objects while keeping others, also works in Cycles and Eevee, so your setup carries over regardless of which render engine your scene uses.
Extreme PBR Nexus lets you bake a painted object and export it to Unreal Engine, Unity or other 3D engines. After painting across the library's materials on your model, the addon supports turning that result into game-ready textures for use outside Blender. This means you can author and paint surfaces inside Blender and then carry them into a real-time engine workflow.
Extreme PBR Nexus includes an anti-tile system, introduced in version 4.1.111, that eliminates visible texture repetitions. It applies to the library's materials and also works on your own textures, helping surfaces avoid an obvious repeating pattern across larger areas. Alongside this, Visual Mapping Control lets you adjust scale, rotation and position directly in the 3D Viewport, which is useful when aligning wood grains or tile patterns for architecture and interior design.
