Fracture-Iterator earns its place in the superhive library for pairing keyframe control with rigid body physics in one iterative fracture workflow. It requires Blender's Cell Fracture addon to be enabled first.
Fracture-Iterator is a Blender addon built to assist the fracture simulation process. It lets you control which part breaks and when, working through a recursive process until the result satisfies you. Objects are broken using Blender's internal Cell Fracture addon, launched from the first button, and dynamics can be enabled on fragments at the current frame while previous dynamics continue ahead.
Later versions added the ability to break by loose parts, so you can precut an object to break the way you want, plus a Rigid Body "Animated" keyframe trigger that enables rigid bodies for selected objects in one click. The workflow was simplified with preset modes and a new layout, and everything can be baked to keyframes. The addon now lives in a FRACTURE tab, and Cell Fracture can be swapped for another breaking tool.

Fracture-Iterator relies on Blender's Cell Fracture addon, which must be enabled as an addon or extension before you start. Objects are broken using Cell Fracture, launched from the first button. A later update added the ability to break objects with a tool other than Cell Fracture, so it isn't the only option. Enable Cell Fracture in your Blender preferences first to make sure Fracture-Iterator functions as intended.
Fracture-Iterator only needs to be present at animation time. Scenes created with it can be opened without the addon installed, so a later session doesn't require the addon just to open a file. You do need it enabled while building and running the fracture animation itself. This keeps the dependency limited to the stage where the iterative breaking and dynamics work actually happens.
