QuickImporter earns its place in the toolfarm library by tackling a routine but time-consuming step – finding and importing footage – with fuzzy search and inline previews. The single license spanning Premiere Pro, After Effects and Audition is a practical touch for editors who move between the three apps.
mamoworld QuickImporter replaces the standard file import dialog in Premiere Pro, After Effects and Audition with one built around super-fast, fuzzy keyword search and a built-in audio player. It searches through thousands of files instantly, and because the search is fuzzy, your terms don't need to be exact – misspelled search words still return good results.
The dialog is aimed at browsing large footage libraries. Hover over a file icon to start audio playback, or open video files in a media player for preview. Image sequences appear as a single search result instead of hundreds of individual image files, and on Mac, thumbnails are drawn from the macOS Quicklook system, covering formats such as psd, ai, eps and most video files. Quick navigation with favorites, recent folders and auto-complete helps you reach footage folders faster.
A single license covers all three host apps. In Audition, QuickImporter inserts files directly into the active track of a multitrack session, or opens them in the waveform editor when no session is running. It is also available as part of the Editing Essentials Bundle alongside Still Exporter and BeatEdit.

QuickImporter supports a wide range of After Effects versions, including 2026, 2025, 2024, 2023, 2022, 2021, 2020, and the CC releases from CC 2019 back through CC 2015. It also runs in Premiere Pro across a similar version range and in Audition from CC 2018 through 2025. That coverage means the same import dialog and fuzzy search workflow are available whether you are on a current release or an older CC install. QuickImporter uses a single license that lets you run it in Premiere Pro, After Effects and Audition, so there is no need to buy separate versions for each host. The fuzzy search, built-in audio player and image sequence handling carry over between the apps. QuickImporter generates thumbnails using the macOS Quicklook system, so on Mac it can show previews for a huge variety of formats, including psd, ai, eps and most video formats. On Windows the situation is different: thumbnails are only available for jpg and png files. If a particular format does not produce a thumbnail on Mac, you can check whether a Quicklook plugin exists for it. Note also that audio preview is not available for AIFF files, so keep that in mind when browsing audio libraries.
QuickImporter shows image sequences as a single search result rather than as hundreds of individual image files, which keeps browsing tidy. There is one limitation to note: due to a restriction within Premiere Pro itself, image sequence import does not work in Premiere Pro versions older than CC 2015.4. In After Effects and in newer Premiere Pro releases this is not an issue. If you rely on image sequences and use an older Premiere Pro build, factor this into your version choice before installing.
